What it is
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a once-weekly injection that acts on two natural gut hormone receptors (GLP-1 and GIP). It helps regulate appetite and blood sugar, so you tend to feel fuller for longer and eat less.
How you take it
Given as a small injection under the skin once a week, on the same day each week, using a pre-filled pen. Your dose is increased gradually to help your body adjust.
Good to know
The most common side effects are usually mild and tend to settle over time — for example nausea, constipation or diarrhoea. Your prescriber will talk these through with you.
